Milestone Since 2005

2005

SAKAR got registered & started the work in Bareilly.

2007

Got first project approved by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation for supporting women & girls become Empower.

2008

Organized first big event on International Women’s Day with 300 community women. Recognition by Administration was Media was given.

SAKAR started its work with children in schools, ensuring quality education and remedial classes with weak or out of school children.

New staff & volunteers joined SAKAR to move towards our vision

2009

SAKAR got FCRA and now we were eligible to apply for international grants.

2011

Women Rights issue started gaining visibility with the active involvement of women’s groups & newly joined sanghtan.

2013

Gaining visibility as Women’s right organization by Administration and other stakeholders.

Taking up cases & supporting women, girls & children voicing against different forms of violence like D.V., Sexual assault, rape and discrimination cases and getting justice through legal processes.

SAKAR was awarded by the then Chief Minister Shri Akhilesh Yadav for our work on empower children through education.

2015

Women’s Sanghtan of Marginalized & Minority women became stronger & established its identity to eradicate all forms of violence and discrimination against women.

SAKAR’s work in the field of women’s empowerment, livelihood strengthening, ensuring quality education & girls’ empowerment was getting grounded

COVID 19 turned us from right based to Welfare approach organization, we came forward to support families and communities to fight the pandemic and survive gracefully.

2022

We scaled up & increased our reach from 20 villages to 40 villages and 1 block to 5 blocks.

Adolescent Rights & Empowerment has become the big part of our work intervention to empower the new generation to bring change.
